Observation of World Disabled Day in collaboration with State Resource Centre, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan , N.G.Os and Social Welfare

3rd December 2010: A procession rally with placards accompanied by the Band Party from Shillong Club to State Auditorium premises was organised and after a short function, departed to Sanker, Mawlai for the main programme. Government and different N.G.Os working for the Persons with Disabilities participated in the programme to observe the World disabled Day together in one single programme which makes everyone more convenient to participate.

The aim of the programme was to create awareness about the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and to sensitise about the New Law.

Talent show by Persons with disabilities was conducted during the programme to encourage Persons with Disabilities in the full participation as productive citizen in the State and State Award for those who have done outstanding services for the Welfare of Disabled Persons was presented.
