In the course of the Khasi Disabilities Association's journey since its establishment, it has conducted several "Awareness Progarmmes" in all the districts of the Ri-Khasi, how to be aware about The Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunities, Protection of Rights And Full Participation) Act, 1995 which is a special right for the disabled persons in the society.  The Association has been helping in meeting the officers concerns to attain the reservations in jobs, schemes etc. from the departments concerned. It also helps the Persons with Disabilities to get the Disability Certificates and their identification in the departments concerned. It has met the Chief Minister, Minister of Social Welfare, Chief Secretary and Government Officers to express the grievances faced by the persons with disabilities in the State.

Conclusion

The Khasi Disabilities Association (An Association for the Persons with Disabilities) Central Body, has ample dedicated members who has enthusiastically devoted themselves to its overall welfare; lending a helping hand towards one another. Hence, the Association urges the Government and the Local Authorities to work hand in hand with the Association in all aspects for the welfare and benefit of the Persons with Disabilities.
