National Handicapped Finance Development Corporation (N.H.F.D.C.)

Implementation of N.H.F.D.C. scheme has taken off in the state towards the end of 2010. The Meghalaya Co-operative Apex Bank (M.C.A.B.) Limited is the State Channelizing Agency.

Awareness Programme on National Handicapped Finance Development Corporation Scheme have been organised by the Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities in collaboration with Meghalaya Cooperative Apex Bank at Shillong, Tura, Jowai and Nongpoh with a view to sensitize the people particularly Persons with Disabilities for creating self employment. A committee is formed to review implementation of the scheme.
So far, there are 182 beneficiaries under the Scheme.
The Meghalaya Cooperative Apex Bank Limited was awarded the best State Channelising Agency on February 2014.
